Amrit Gill – Artistic Director and Chief Executive Officer
Amrit is an arts and cultural worker with experience in producing, programming, strategy, international relations, community development and social enterprise. From 2013 to early 2021, Amrit worked at the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory agency. As the Council’s Director of International Development, she led on international strategic investment across artforms, overseeing the Venice Biennale project and implementation of the agency’s first international arts strategy, expanding engagement and investment in Asia and global First Nations exchange. Earlier in her career, Amrit held roles at Milk Crate Theatre, the British Council Australia, and Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE). She holds a Bachelor of Art Theory and a Bachelor of Arts (History) from the University of New South Wales, graduating in 2008.

Nuala Furtado – General Manager
Nuala Furtado is a producer/ programmer with over 10 years of experience working across contemporary practice and experimental forms from inside Australian festivals and small-medium arts organisations. As Executive Producer/ CEO at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists (2018-2021), Nuala was instrumental in the organisational shift to a collaborative cultural leadership model, implementing an Artistic Directorate of 5 practicing mid-career Artists. In this role she developed and produced focused creative and professional development opportunities for the next generation of Australian creative innovators. Nuala holds a Bachelor of Music Studies from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. As a participant in the Future Leaders program at the Australia Council for the Arts (2019), Nuala is currently investigating her own diverse cultural heritage as a first generation Australian with a Goan-Indian father and a Northern-Irish Catholic mother. Nuala brings her understanding of difference to all aspects of her work and is deeply invested in programming and presenting marginalised voices and new narratives.

Mariam Arcilla – Communications and Development Manager
Mariam Arcilla is an artsworker who oscillates between creative producing, writing, editing, and communications strategy. Since 2006, she has collaborated with artists and institutions to turn radiant ideas into exhibitions, publications, dialogues, and resources. She joined 4A in mid 2020 and has held senior roles in cultural agencies, artist-run initiatives, galleries, governments, and tech start-ups. She has also produced projects and campaigns with the Museum of Brisbane, Institute of Modern Art, THE WALLS, Asia Pacific Design Library / State Library of QLD, Art Month Sydney, STATION Australia, Metro Arts, Gold Coast City Gallery (now HOTA), and Liquid Architecture. During her time in Queensland Government, she contributed to state-wide implementation of cultural policies and innovation programs for artists, designers, and entrepreneurs. As a writer and editor, her text is placed in institutional books and websites, and in publications such as VAULT, Running Dog, Neue Luxury, HOTA Collects, Art Collector, Art Guide, Runway, and Broadsheet. Mariam is of Filipino-Singaporean descent. She immigrated to Yugambeh & Kombumerri lands in 1996 and holds a BA Hons (First Class) and Bachelor of Creative Arts degree from Griffith University. She lives and works on unceded Gadigal land.

Bridie Moran – Stakeholder Manager
Bridie Moran is an arts manager, editor and programmer, with extensive experience in art, craft and publishing, who has worked for over a decade with contemporary art and cultural organisations. From 2016-2017, Bridie was 4A’s Manager, Development, Communications and Marketing, and from 2017-2019 was the 4A Engagement and Development Manager before moving to lead the organisation as Acting Director from November 2019 – January 2021 and as Executive Director from January 2021 – April 2021, before moving into her current role. Bridie has delivered a range of exhibitions, programs, public art projects and publications across Australia and the Asia region, and was from 2017-2018 Board Director at Sydney artist-run initiative Firstdraft, and is Assistant Editor of The Journal of Australian Ceramics. She has worked at Museum of Contemporary Art, Carriageworks, and the Australian National Maritime Museum, as inaugural Program Manager of the Australia Council for the Arts’ National Craft Initiative, Executive Producer of Arts and Culture at FBi Radio, and as Partnerships and Marketing Manager at The Walkley Foundation. Bridie has a strong interest in arts governance, diversity, and craft practice, and in 2016 completed a Master of Museum and Heritage Studies at the University of Sydney. Bridie is currently a PhD candidate at the University of NSW and Curator on the 4A touring exhibition Drawn by stones. Bridie lives and works on unceded Awabakal lands.

Con Gerakaris – Curatorial Program Manager
Con is a curator, arts administrator and writer and currently is the Curatorial Program Manager at 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. Con has curated James Jirat Patradoon: ULTRA (2021); Holding Patterns (2020); DARK FANTASY (2019) and Chris Yee: HI MEDUSA! (2019) for 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. Independently, he curated the exhibitions D A R K S E A – Lynn Nguyen and J.S.D. Andrews (2019), goodspace, Chippendale; CITIZENS OF NO PLACE (2018), Down/Under Space, Chippendale; and IT’S PRONOUNCED “GIF” NOT “GIF” (2017), goodspace, Chippendale. Con programmed the inaugural Club 4A for Sydney’s Chinese New Year Festival 2018 and instigated, curated and produced for 4A Digital throughout 2020 and 2021. He has published articles for 4A Papers, un. extended, Runway Conversations and Art Collector. Con completed a Bachelor of Arts (HONS) in 2013 and a Master of Art Curating in 2016 at the University of Sydney.

Reina Takeuchi – Curatorial Program Producer
Reina Takeuchi is an Australian-Japanese artist-researcher, curator and dance maker interested in interdisciplinary collaboration. Influenced by her experiences living peripatetically across East and Southeast Asia during her youth, Takeuchi uses an auto-ethnographic approach to her art/performance processes. Her practice spans across visual arts, choreography, curatorial projects, written publications and creative facilitation. She has contributed to publications including Ausdance Qld, Delving into Dance, Eyeline Contemporary Visual Art magazine, 4A Papers and Runway Journal. Her curatorial projects have included installations at Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria, and Holding Patterns, Truc Truong: hai con lân việt kiều, and Acute Actions: Responses to I Am Not A Virus with 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art. Takeuchi holds a Master of Philosophy in Creative Practice from QUT, Advanced Diploma in Dance Performance from the Sydney Dance Company Pre-Professional Year and is currently a PhD candidate at QUT, focussing on Asia-Pacific performance and curatorial projects.

Lucia Nguyen – Gallery Assistant
Lucia Tường Vy Nguyễn is a Vietnamese-Australian writer and arts worker living and working on unceded Dharug and Gadigal land. She joined 4A for its Lunar New Year activations in 2019, after working in digital media and events production for organisations such as Carriageworks, Kensington Street precinct, News Corp Australia and Bauer Media. She is interested in exploring dichotomies of control and chaos in her writing, which has been featured in Runway Journal, University of Sydney’s Philament Journal and Digital Artist Residency (in collaboration with BIPOC-focused multidisciplinary collective Close isn’t Home). She is currently completing a Bachelor of Communications & Media (Journalism) at The University of Notre Dame Australia.

Nicole Beck – Gallery Assistant
Nicole Beck is an emerging curator and arts administrator. She started at 4A as an intern in 2019, and now works to support the gallery’s production and programming. Her background is in radio, film and journalism, completing a Bachelor of Communication (Media, Arts and Production) at The University of Technology Sydney in 2018. She has extensive experience volunteering in the arts, working with organisations such as Performance Space and Carriageworks, however, Nicole has dedicated herself particularly to community radio. For five years Nicole volunteered on So Hot Right Now, 2SER’s arts and culture program. During her time on the program Nicole worked as producer, executive producer and host, striving to elevate and support Sydney’s independent and DIY arts community in all these roles. Shifting away from media and further into curatorial work, Nicole is currently undergoing a Masters in Curating and Cultural Leadership at UNSW Art and Design.
